Contact the artist to discuss commissioning a painting. You, the client must provide good photos for reference. Especially for an action portrait (sports, etc.), the picture should provide enough information (full body in action, the setting, etc.) so that the subject is recognizable. I can travel to a site for a house portrait or landscape. Size, medium, content will all be discussed in the early stages of the project.
The price range for commissions is usually from $500- $3000 and depends on the size of the piece and how complicated is the subject. I require a small initial fee to sketch out a painting and begin the process, and up to 50% of the total to start the painting. The balance is due on the delivery of the painting. |
